How do we measure TV across 4 screens?

With its Focus Emission 4 Écrans service (4-screen Programme Focus), Médiamétrie offers daily audience results for TV programmes across all screen types and for any broadcast time.

Médiamétrie provides daily TV audience results across 4 screens: television, computer, smartphone and tablet. This new module known as Focus Emission 4 Écrans is available in Restit' TV, the Médiamat result reporting interface.

Media usage is evolving as people now also watch television on Internet screens. Given its scientific and technological expertise, Médiamétrie has developed a methodology that brings together and compares the results for TV watched on a television with viewing on other screens. These audiences are available for all television content tagged on the Internet via the eStat'Streaming solution, a tool for real-time measurement of audio and video streamed flows across all device types.

Every day, Médiamétrie offers its television measurement clients the results for their programmes across the 4 screens - television, computer, smartphone and tablet - as an average number of viewers per screen type and by viewing mode (live, pre-recorded or catch-up). These are available daily via Restit'TV, Médiamat's audience reporting interface.

Several data sources have been brought together to generate these results:

  • Médiamétrie's three single-screen panels (broadband, mobile and tablets) for the digital audience.
  • Médiamat, naturally the benchmark panel for television,
  • The Google and Médiamétrie Panel (Google/Médiamétrie single source Internet TV panel) – is at the core as a hub
  • Médiamétrie's site-centric measurement – eStat Streaming.
